-
- --- HOW TO USE SPLODGE! ---
-
- When the program starts the screen size is set to 320 x 232 pixels, and
- G=3,K1=2, K2=3, which define my favourite CA.
- You will see these values displayed at the bottom of the screen, along
- with some boxes containing text. All control of the program is via the mouse,
- but initially the mouse pointer is not visible. Click on any mouse button to
- make the pointer appear, then you can start to adjust the program setup.
- Click the mouse on the boxes containing text to select the following
- options:
-
- RND - Restarts the CA from a random screen.
- FZ - Freezes the processing to allow the awesome beauty of the
- current frame to be appreciated.
- Click on this again to resume processing.
- While the program is 'frozen' clicking on the main screen area
- will take the processing on one step at a time
- CL - Changes the selection of colours, so that the program is a bit
- more pleasant to look at.
- OFF - Switches off the scrolling 'Central Weekend' arrow effect, and
- removes the mouse pointer. The box will then display 'ON' and
- this option will switch the arrows back on.
- QT - Quits the program.
-
- To change the values G, K1, and K2, and therefore the rule of the CA,
- click the mouse on the box containing them. Similarly to change the size of
- the screen displayed click the mouse on the boxes containing arrows to the
- right of the display, however no changes will occur until RND is selected.
- If you have multisync monitor you will find the screen size can be increased
- beyond 256 x 320 and the program will switch automatically to multisync mode
- when RND is selected.
- Reducing the screen size will make the program run a lot faster, which may
- be desirable.
-
- The program always centres the display in the middle of the screen, and
- will remove the graphic bars at the top and bottom to allow a full hieght
- screen to be displayed. When the bottom bar is not visible, the initial
- click on the mouse will make it appear.
-
- If you have a VIDC Mode Expander fitted, and a Module loaded, you may
- find the program looks much better, for this reason Modules are not cleared,
- so bear this in mind if you have problems.
-
- If you have any problems with this program, or whatever, you can
- contact me at the address at the end of 'CAs'.
